Depp & Banderas to Sin?

Well, I called it. A week or so ago when I wrote about how Frank Miller was set for SIN CITY 2, I looked into my crystal ball and foretold the coming of many A-list actors fighting to get a part in the sequel to SIN CITY (read Arrow’s review). I guess nobody can fault them either, who the hell wouldn’t want to be in this movie, especially after seeing the first one. Well, apparently you can add Johnny Depp and Antonio Banderas to the list of actors who are tying to get on board.

Those crazy investigative journalists over at MTV got the scoop, and in the interview Robert Rodriquez mentions how Depp was almost in the first film: “[Depp] was interested in doing the Jackie Boy character that Benicio [Del Toro] played [in the first one], but he was doing that movie ‘Libertine’ in Europe and it just kept getting pushed and delayed and went right through our shooting schedule,” Rodriquez said of the actor he directed in “Once Upon a Time in Mexico.” “But there is a better role for him in [‘Hell and Back’]. I kept going, ‘Gosh, Jackie Boy is a small part, he could be really good [as Wallace].’ When he wasn’t available, I thought maybe it was meant to be.”

Wow, as much of a Johnny Depp fan as I am, I loved the way it turned out. Hopefully both of these names make it on board, we fan-boy’s can only benefit from their contributions. To read the rest of this interview click HERE.
