We got a heads up today from Michael Bartlett, co-director of the upcoming zombie flick THE ZOMBIE DIARIES, to let us know that DIARIES is gearing up for it’s theatrical premiere in the UK this October. And judging from the storyline, let’s hope that it quickly follows with a run in the States (or even a simple DVD treatment would be ok).
If you head over to the film’s
OFFICIAL SITE you can check out all the goodies this zombie film has to offer, including a short teaser and an entire gallery of stills. But what’s it about, you ask? Check it:

Yes, I know what you’re thinking: didn’t we just
hear about zombie legend George A. Romero’s next zombie entry being DIARY OF THE DEAD, which surprisingly has the same ‘documentation of zombies with a video camera’ concept that this film has? Bartlett describes DIARIES as focusing more on the breakdown of society (or what is left of it) than gore. Hardcore Zombie Fans will not be disappointed, however, with really great special effects by some of the team that worked on the
THE DESCENT. Nice!
I like the angle they’re going for, and more importantly, I like the gore! So if you’re in the UK this fall, look for THE ZOMBIE DIARIES premiering in your neck of the woods on Saturday, October 28th, with a larger release beginning the next day (that’s Sunday, October 29th for those keeping track). And don’t forget to hit up the official site, which you can magically be transported to by clicking
