Maybe it’s the sudden onslaught of shite like THE POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES, CLOVERFIELD, and [REC] (or QUARANTINED in the U.S.) depicting the horror through the lens of a documentary style, but this doesn’t seem like a fresh take on zombies at all… more like a film that’s taking the buzz from the above films, and the sudden hotness that still is the zombie picture, and slapping it all together into one.
It’s sacreligious to even be saying that a movie from the legendary Romero is a rip-off of other films, but it’s true… at least, judging from the trailer. Of course, if this were released a year ago, it’d probably feel very fresh and new, so go figure.
Anyway, enjoy the new trailer below, and spit some bullets on your thoughts. Will this be the next big entry in the DEAD series, or just another disappointment along the lines of BRUISER? DIARY OF THE DEAD hits theaters everywhere February 15th.
