Dimension to DVD

In their attempt to be the number one go-to studio for all things horror, The Weinstein Company (TWC) just announced 3 new labels focusing on the DVD market today, including one that’s set primarily for horror. What’s it called? Dimension Extreme!

Much like Tartan Extreme, Dimension Extreme is basing it’s appeal on today’s fascination with the word ‘extreme’, as in, if you slap ‘extreme’ at the end of a regular word, it becomes that much cooler, hipper, and yes… that much more extreme. TWC is so clever sometimes. Their other labels are called Kaleidoscope TWC (for kid flicks), and The Miriam Collection (for old classics).

So what’s lined up for Dimension Extreme thus far? Greg McLean’s crocodile flick ROGUE will finally see the light of day under the label, as well as a sequel to last summer’s PULSE (no, that’s not a joke), a JACKASS-style flick from Britain called DIRTY SANCHEZ, and finally, Dario Argento’s SUSPIRIA, which they just acquired distribution for.

I’m still in shock that they’re actually going to make a PULSE 2, but am stoked that they’re showing ROGUE some love, because from what I’ve heard, it’s not a bad killer-croc flick. Stick around for more titles and updates coming out of Dimension Extreme through the DVD BUZZ-SAW, and keep your fingers crossed that they’ll be releasing better titles into the future!
