Dinklage, Reeves & Boom! team for Last Sons of America adaptation on Netflix

Boom! Studios, the same indie comic book publisher that brings such wonderful titles as The Avant Guards, Fence, Lumberjanes, Bone Parish, By Night, and Giants Days to shelves each month, has announced that they're teaming up with Netflix for an adaptation of Last Sons of America, a post-apocalyptic mystery-thriller. Created by author Phillip Kennedy Johnson and artist Matthew Dow Smith, the upcoming film adaptation of LAST SONS OF AMERICA has GAME OF THRONES' Peter Dinklage in-line to star with THE BATMAN helmer Matt Reeves looking to produce alongside Adam Kassdan via 6th and Idaho.

Here is the official synopsis for LAST SONS OF AMERICA via Uproxx (courtesy of Boom! Studios' official website):

When a biological terrorist attack makes it impossible for anyone in America to conceive, those looking to start a family must rely on adoption of children from around the world. ' Brothers Jackie and Julian are adoption agents based in Nicaragua, securing deals with families willing to give their children up for adoption. The duo usually conducts their adoptions through legal means but it becomes more difficult when child kidnapping becomes the norm. ' Desperate and running out of options, Jackie snatches a young runaway, unaware that he's grabbed the daughter of a local crime lord. In over their heads and on the run, the two brothers fall into the mystery at the root of their world's status quo-a mystery much darker than they might be able to bear. ' Collects the complete limited series.  ' 'Johnson and Smith have created a genuinely intriguing setting with much to say about what happens when humanity is broken down to how much it's worth on the open market.

Directing the adaptation is JAMES WHITE helmer Josh Mond, with Dinklage also on board to produce alongside David Ginsberg for Estuary Films. Additionally, Ross Richie and Stephen Christy of Boom! Studios will also produce.

The starring role for LAST SONS OF AMERICA is yet another great spot for Dinklage, who in the past several years has been leaving his mark on pop culture by starring as Tyrion Lannister for HBO's GAME OF THRONES. That being said, the swords and sorcery show will be entering its final season come April 14th, at which point Dinklage will retire his goblet and venture toward other shining opportunities in film and television. Here's hoping that LAST SONS OF AMERICA takes full advantage of his talents, when it arrives on Netflix further down the line.
