Dinosaurs, nazis, and aliens attack in Iron Sky: The Coming Race trailer

Fans of all things weird and wild take notice, for Vertical Entertainment has debuted a trailer for IRON SKY: THE COMING RACE, an action adventure comedy from director Timo Vuorensola that promises to "Make Earth Great Again."

As a follow-up to the film IRON SKY (2012) in which Nazis plan to take over the world after lying dormant in a secret military base on the moon, Vuorensola's latest chapter of the IRON SKY saga follows the devastating aftermath of nuclear war on Earth, when a former Nazi Moonbase has become the last refuge for mankind. Limited supplies and overpopulation threaten the survivors until Obi, the leader’s daughter, finds a map pointing to a power buried deep under Earth’s wasted surface that could save mankind or destroy it once and for all. When an old enemy leads our heroes on an adventure into the Hollow Earth, they must fight an ancient shapeshifting reptilian race to save humanity.

Helming IRON SKY: THE COMING RACE is Timo Vuorensola, who co-wrote the script alongside Dalan Musson. The film stars Lara Rossi (ROBIN HOOD, HOZION: ZERO DAWN), Vladimir Burlakov (IN THE FACE OF CRIME), Kit Dale (Jack Irish), Udo Kier (DOWNSIZING, MELANCHOLIA) and Tom Green (ROAD TRIP, FREDDY GOT FINGERED).

After watching the trailer posted above, I'd say that IRON SKY: THE COMING RACE is definitely giving me those KUNG FURY and TURBO KID vibes. Let's make a list, shall we? In this trailer alone we bear witness to Moon Nazis, battle-ready dinosaurs, strange alien beings, planetary destruction, and is that a Mad Max-style chariot race? It is! Oh, and there's also the Tom Green factor, which in and of itself is worth the price of admission. If you ask me, this has "a drunken movie night with friends" written all over it.

In addition to the new trailer, Vertical also shared a new poster for IRON SKY: THE COMING RACE, which you can see for yourself below:

IRON SKY: THE COMING RACE will crash land in theaters, On Demand, and on Digital HD on July 19th.
