Director Stuart Beattie’s adaptation of I, FRANKENSTEIN has found its shooting location with shooting getting pushed back by one month.
Last month we told you about the film and that Aaron Eckhart had been signed to star. At that time the film was aiming to shoot in Australia and start January of next year. It has now been confirmed that yes it will shoot in Australia, and it will shoot in the state of Victoria. Good news for the State as it will bring in some new employment and great for the local industry, and heck its the State that I live in – score! The production is going to be based at the Docklands Studios with other locations being scouted. Films such as THE KNOWING and DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK also shot in the State and at that Studio.
I, FRANKENSTEIN is currently in pre-production, with shooting set to commence in February rather than January. It will be produced by Hopscotch Features and Lakeshore Entertainment in partnership. Author of the Graphic Novel Kevin Grevioux will serve as Executive Producer. Currently Eckhart is the only person cast, with more announcements expected soon.
I, FRANKENSTEIN is a modern-day epic: Frankenstein’s creature, ADAM, has survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation. Making his way to a dark, gothic metropolis, he finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.
The film is still on track for its February 22, 2013 release date.
Australia has produced some great talent, including the lovely Rose Byrne.
