One film that I’ve been trying to keep my thumb on is PSYCH: 9, not just because it has a somewhat interesting premise or because it has a stylish lookl, but mostly because it stars the great Cary Elwes and Michael Biehn. It’s nice to see those guys still making movies, and having them be in the same flick… that’s the golden ticket, right there.
Directed by Andrew Shortell, PSYCH: 9 goes a little something like this:A young woman with a troubled past takes a job at a recently closed hospital to collate the hardcopy patient records. Working alone in the building after dark, she experiences a series of unsettling events that lead her to believe the hospital may be connected to a number of recent murders in the area. To uncover the truth, she has to solve the mystery of her own disturbing past.
Shortell filmed a behind the scenes video diary of his experiences working on the set, and lucky for us… we can now watch through the glory of technology and the video player below. Officially, the video diary gives an exclusive look behind the scenes of the shoot, and a glimpse at the likes of Cary Elwes (Saw), Michael Biehn (Aliens), Sara Foster (The Big Bounce) and Gabriel Mann (The Bourne Supremacy) in action.
How can you argue with that? The only downside to the entire diary experience (if there is one), is that it’s a whopping 9 minutes long. Like an actual special feature on the DVD or something, but provided to you before the flick has even had a chance to hit theaters. Look who’s pimpin’ now, yo!
Enjoy Shortell’s video diary below, keep an eye out for Elwes and Biehn, and get ready for PSYCH: 9 in UK theaters May 7th, and in US theaters later this year.
