Disappeared poster!

The new poster for THE DISAPPEARED hit the ol’ internet this weekend, and is it just me or is thing thing kind of lame? Floating heads, an ambiguous tagline, and it’s overall placement and design. This thing does nothing for me… and yet the flick itself sounds like it could be kind of cool.

Starring Harry Treadaway, Greg Wise, and Alex Jennings, and directed by Johnny Kevorkian (no relation to the Dr. Death as far as I can tell), THE DISAPPEARED goes a little something like this: Following the disappearance of his younger brother Tom, Matthew Ryan tries to put his life and sanity back together. However the past keeps coming back to haunt him.

There’s an extremely long plot summary over at its IMBd page if you need more than the one liner, but trust me when I say it’s really f*cking long! For me, all I need to know is that it’s a ghost story that won some prizes at the Eerie Horror Film Festival, including Best Film and Best Sound. Yeah!

Too bad the poster blows ass. I don’t get a ghost or a haunting movie at all coming from this thing, I get some sort of mental hospital / church vibe. Plus, why is there a blonde chick on the poster when the names listed are all dudes? Her looks are good enough to be on the poster, but her name isn’t? Lame. THE DISAPPEARED debuted in the UK a few weeks back. No word on it’s North American release, but we’ll keep you posted.
