Disney Parks announces Avengers Campus and Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

Update: In addition to announcing the Avengers Campus and Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser attractions, Disney has unveiled plans for an extensive overhaul of their Epcot park. The update is scheduled to take place prior the Disney World resort’s 50th anniversary in 2021, and will include a ride based on the studio's 2016 animated smash-hit MOANA. Titled Journey of Water, the walk-through section is set to feature interactive aquatic elements among lush foliage and other details inspired by the film. (via Entertainment Weekly) The new MOANA experience is just one way that Disney is looking to update Epcot, as part of an effort to make the park more appealing to guests.

Furthermore, Journey of Water won't be the only atrraction making it's way to Epcot. In an effort to bring new magic to the area, Disney is also building an indoor Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster, as well as a RATATOULLIE ride which is set to be imported from a prior build currently operating at Disneyland Paris. Disney will alos be looking to establish new landscaping around the 305-acre property.

If you weren’t satisfied with how much money Disney has taken from you at the movies this year, nor does the prospect of paying every month for Disney+ this fall do it for you, then be prepared to give away what precious cash you have left. On the D23 show floor, Disney unveiled their Disney Parks “Imagining Tomorrow, Today” pavilion, which teased plans for several new attractions. But, of course, of all it teases the one that stands out the most is the upcoming “Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser” experience. Not a roller coaster, interactive ride, or even a themed churro stand, “Galactic Starcruiser” allows guests to board the Halcyon for a two-night vacation experience meant to get you as close to a space vacation as possible.

Here are the description and a photo:

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, invites guests to embark on a two-night adventure aboard a glamorous starship. During this first-of-its-kind vacation experience, you’ll interact with characters and become an active participant in immersive stories that unfold over the course of an unforgettable galactic journey on board the starcruiser (to be called the Halcyon).

Next, plans were shown for the upcoming Marvel attraction – “Avengers Campus” – which will be at Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Paris. The idea is to make guests feel like a member of the super team as they get to on an interactive experience around the world…and where half of the said guests may or may not turn to ash over the course of things. But don’t worry, the other half may bring them back…and one guest may come back looking very, very old.

“…guests who visit these campuses will become part of an interconnected, global story spanning from California to Paris to Hong Kong, as the Avengers recruit new extraordinary people to join them.

Disney didn't provide any dates for when these attractions would be up and ready for guests to come visit, but anyone going to D23 can stop by the pavilion to check out the models. If you aren't able to get over to the convention then we will have your back here, so stay tuned for any breaking news coming out of the festivities.
