Disney Movies 2021: Enchanted 2 and Sister Act sequel will debut streaming

disney movies 2021 include Enchanted sequel and Sister Act 3

While the Disney Investor Day was dominated by news coming out of the Star Wars and Marvel universes, a look at the Disney Plus release schedule revealed a pretty jampacked slate of original movies, including two highly anticipated sequels. First up is Disenchanted, with star Amy Adams set to return. No news on who's going to direct, but what's note-worthy is the fact that Enchanted was a worldwide box office hit, and if a sequel going straight to streaming isn't a sign of the times, I don't know what is.

Speaking of sequels, here's one I didn't see coming. It looks like more than twenty-five years after last wearing the habit, Whoopi Goldberg is returning in Sister Act 3, to be produced by Tyler Perry, alongside Goldberg, who'll also be taking a credit.  Pretty neat – plus word also dropped that Gabrielle Union will be headlining a reboot of Cheaper by the Dozen, coming from none other than Kenya Barris, meaning this edition of the franchise should be a little more grounded than the Steve Martin family comedy. Plus, as expected Cruella, starring Emma Stone as the titular villain, Peter Pan & Wendy as well as the Pinocchio remake with Tom Hanks, are also set to go straight to the service. It looks like it's going to be a jampacked 2021 for a service that keeps adding more and more subscribers every day.
