PARADISE LOST, Alex Proyas’ big-screen adaptation of the John Milton classic, continues to add to its impressive lineup. Only question is, aren’t there ladies in paradise?
Variety has it that Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou (seen right) will make his way to PARADISE LOST, doing so alongside Bradley Cooper and Benjamin Walker. Word is Hounsou will play Abdiel, the angel of death.
Hounsou, seemingly off the scene since garnering an Oscar nod for BLOOD DIAMOND in ’07, was actually doing work on the TV series “Black Panther.” He was last seen in THE TEMPEST, and has ELEPHANT WHITE and SPECIAL FORCES due out this year. To me though, my man will always be that goofball vying for Janet Jackson’s affection in that f*ckin’ “Love Will Never Do” video. Ya dig?!?
From Milton’s 17th century work, PARADISE LOST tells the story of the epic war in heaven between archangels Michael (Walker) and Lucifer (Cooper), including the latter’s role in Adam and Eve’s fall from grace.
Expect PARADISE LOST to drop in late 2013.
