Does Universal want Dwayne Johnson to be their Wolf Man?

There are people who like keeping busy and there are people who really like keeping busy, and then there's Dwayne Johnson. The charismatic actor is attached to so many projects that you wonder just when he finds the time to eat or sleep, and buried within a report from Deadline that Johnson will be producing an adaptation of upcoming graphic novel "Son Of Shaolin" comes another possible project.

The outlet says that there are "persistent rumors Universal wants him howling at the moon when it gets around to the Wolf Man movie that is part of its classic monsters franchise revival plans." Take this with a grain of salt for now, but given that Universal seems to want to populate their Universal Monster films with A-listers (Tom Cruise in THE MUMMY, Johnny Depp in THE INVISIBLE MAN, and possibly Angelina Jolie in BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN) it's not completely out of the blue that they'd want to approach Dwayne Johnson. He'd certainly make for an imposing Wolf Man if that's the direction they're going. Meanwhile, Johnson is filming FAST 8 and has a variety of projects on the horizon including MOANA, BAYWATCH, SHAZAM, DOC SAVAGE, JUMANJI, RAMPAGE, as well as sequels to JOURNEY and SAN ANDREAS. As for myself, I'm starting to seriously think about reorganizing my Blu-ray shelves.

How do you feel about Dwayne Johnson potentially becoming a part of the Universal Monsters franchise?
