Don’t Breathe 2 rated R; Promises bloody violence, gruesome images

It's been a long time coming, but a sequel to Fede Alvarez's 2016 film Don't Breathe (watch it HERE) will finally be reaching theatres on August 13th – and judging by the rating, Don't Breathe 2 is going to deliver just the sort of sights we'd expect from a Don't Breathe follow-up. The film has officially been rated R for "strong bloody violence, gruesome images, and language".

Alvarez's Don't Breathe co-writer Rodo Sayagues makes his feature directorial debut with the sequel. Scripted by Alvarez and Sayagues, Don't Breathe 2 is set

several years after the home invasion of the first movie, with the Blind Man living in quiet solace… until his past sins catch up to him.

The Blind Man has been hiding out for years in an isolated cabin and has taken in and raised a young girl orphaned from a house fire. Their quiet existence is shattered when a group of kidnappers show up and take the girl, forcing the Blind Man to leave his safe haven to save her.

Stephen Lang reprises the role of the Blind Man, as you can see in the first look image below.

Alvarez and Sayagues produced the film with Rob Tapert and genre icon Sam Raimi.
