This movie has got to be one of the most solid
examples of the fact that all you need to tie together a semi-decent script is
to throw in some zombies and let the chips fall where they may.

The movie is called DON’T WAKE THE DEAD
and it’s mish mash plot is held wonderfully together by the only thing that can
hold together a plot like this; the living dead! The story
is
about a group of girls from an art academy who end up fighting off Templar and
Nazi zombies while spending the night in an ancient castle. So basically
it’s
SUSPIRIA, THE DA VINCI CODE, RAIDERS
OF THE LOST ARK, and
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD all put together. Oh
and it’s in a castle too so I guess I’ll include one of those lame ass Hardy Boy
novels in there as well.
Truth be told, the movie isn’t quite going for a
realistic scare, but for more of a tongue in cheek laugh with some good gore
attached. Writer Ted Geoghegan even
says “It’s very crazy exploitation horror with a lot of
babes and blood.”, so I guess the makers know that there not making some
award winner here.
