You guys remember how back in April we heard about that ALL YOU NEED IS KILL adaptation over at Warner Bros.? Well supposedly this thing was on the fast track but we haven’t heard anything on the project since then!
Well the wheels are finally starting to move because The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog has the good word on one of the possible directors for the project! According to the site producer/director Doug Liman might be circling the project. The filmmaker will be meeting with Warner Bros. later this week to not only discuss the ALL YOU NEED IS KILL directing job but to also talk about how he’ll work directing THE THREE MUSKETEERS into the mix for the studio.
Will the man even be able to jam both flicks in for the next year? Apparently Liman is the front-runner for now so only time will tell.
The storyline puts a Groundhog Day plot device into a futuristic alien invasion storyline. A raw recruit, pressed into battle against an alien species, gets killed in action. But he is reborn each day to suffer the same fate. Eventually, he notices that he is becoming a better warrior and that other circumstances are changing, which might be the key to altering the outcome.
Warner Bros. want to get this one moving as soon as possible, maybe even for a start-date of next Spring, so we should expect some solid announcements soon. As always as soon as we hear any rumblings on the project we’ll be sure to pass the word along to all of you!
