Each one delivered no surprises when it came to the reasons behind their ratings, pretty run-of-the-mill kind of stuff. DTESS busted out a (surprise surprise) PG-13 rating for some sci-fi disaster images and violence, which I suppose is better than wasting it on language for a movie like this (sorry guys, no naked Connelly in this one…). Judging from the trailer, there will be plenty of destruction to be had… cool beans!
THE ALPHABET KILLER, receiving a limited release… starting last weekend according to Box Office Mojo (something tells me that ain’t right), was slapped with an R rating for language and some violence. Is it me, or is that flippin’ weaksauce? If you were looking for a grisly detective movie about a hardcore killer… look elsewhere, as nothing can be that hardcore when it’s labeled with ‘some violence.’ Oh well.
Ho-hum ratings revealed this week and nothing too surprising (unless, of course, you count how weak the R is for ALPHABET KILLER), as we all knew that DTESS is this holiday season’s blockbuster ‘event’ movie (and those always come with a PG-13 rating attached). Watch for ALPHABET KILLER in it’s limited release from Anchor Bay, and DTESS in theaters everywhere December 12th.
