Today, during a global IMAX Event for Dune: Part Three, Warner Bros. Pictures debuted a new trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated sequel, with a handful of the film’s stars on hand to introduce the latest look at what’s sure to be a sci-fi epic for the ages. In addition to the new trailer, fans can look forward to footage from Dune: Part Three getting shown in 70mm before screenings of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
To tease the crowd even more, WB screened footage from Dune: Part Three, though I’m hearing that it’s the same material from this year’s CinemaCon, which we’ve already covered.
This afternoon, our Editor-in-Chief, Chris Bumbray, attended the Montreal version of today’s IMAX event for Dune: Part Three. During the presentation, Chris shot a few short videos that he posted to our official TikTok channel. You can see some of the videos below:

It’s a global fan day event for Dune: Part Three. Stay tuned later today for the new trailer to drop, but for now, Warner Bros. has unveiled a new poster for Dune: Part Three. If you remember, despite Paul Atreides and Chani’s growing relationship, Dune: Part Two ends with Paul vying for the throne and agreeing to a political marriage to Princess Irulan. Now, the new poster sees Paul and Chani seemingly squaring off in a lovers’ quarrel. Check it out below!
The novel Dune Messiah has the following description: Dune Messiah continues the story of Paul Atreides, better known-and feared-as the man christened Muad’Dib. As Emperor of the Known Universe, he possesses more power than a single man was ever meant to wield. Worshipped as a religious icon by the fanatical Fremens, Paul faces the enmity of the political houses he displaced when he assumed the throne-and a conspiracy conducted within his own sphere of influence. And even as House Atreides begins to crumble around him from the machinations of his enemies, the true threat to Paul comes to his lover, Chani, and the unborn heir to his family’s dynasty.
Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya returned to the roles of Paul Atreides and Chani for the new film, along with Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, Robert Pattinson as Scytale, Isaach de Bankolé as Farok, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa as Leto II Atreides, and Ida Brooke as Ghanima Atreides.
Although the film is being promoted as “The Epic Conclusion,” director Denis Villeneuve has said that he doesn’t see it as the completion of a trilogy. “First, it’s important that people understand that for me, it was really a diptych. It was really a pair of movies that will be the adaptation of the first book. That’s done and that’s finished. If I do a third one, which is in the writing process, it’s not like a trilogy. It’s strange to say that, but if I go back there, it’s to do something that feels different and has its own identity.” Villeneuve added that the story “takes place like 12 years after where we left the characters at the end of Part Two. Their journey, their story is different this time, and that’s why I always say that while it’s the same world it’s a new film with new circumstances.”
It does, however, “finish the Paul Atreides arc.“
