SEVERANCE -September 25th
OFFICE SPACE and THE OFFICE are cinematic pieces of gold when looking through the lens of life in a cubicle- so when I heard they were putting a horror spin in there, I knew we’d be in for a good time! Everything screams awesome here, and while the cover has a little ‘too much’, the point comes across loud and clear: if you find working in a cubicle a horror show, you’ll love this!
The Goods:
THE REAPING – October 16th
Everything I’ve heard about this flick proclaims it to suck more donkey balls than any other of the Dark Castle flicks. This may be true (I never wasted my time with it in the theater), but I must say that the cover they decided to go with is awesome! I’m glad they didn’t go with the generic ‘Hillary Swank looking scared’ DVD cover we’ve only seen acouple of hundred times. Shit, I’d rent this flick on the cover alone… and I know it’s gonna blow!
The Goods:
THE DEAD ONE – September 18th
Poor Fez. He was probably hoping this film would propel him into stardom like his buddies Ashton and Topher after That 70s Show ended. But after what seems like years being kicked around, his (previously) titled effort EL MUERTO is now heading Straight to DVD. Not to say that it’ll be a bad flick, but let’s face it… it likely won’t be the badass romp we were all hoping it would.
The Goods:
BLOODRAYNE 2: DELIVERANCE -September 18th
Uwe Boll’s direct to video sequel is set in the Wild West and features Billy the Kid. If that doesn’t deter you away, then you might be into this stupid ass movie. The new Rayne is hot, I’ll give it that, but following in its predecessor’s footsteps, it’ll have lots of potential but end of floundering with no direction. Let’s hope they keep all that gore and nudity that made part 1 so bearable.
The Goods:
MISERY: Collector’s Edition -October 2nd
This may be one of the better Stephen King adapted flicks, and this special edition is actually looking worthy enough to add in your collection if you haven’t already. Lotsa features, cool cover and all around attention to the film’s presentation probably doesn’t warrant a double dip, but yes- makes it worth a first-time buy. Buy it! Or I’ll break your ankles with a sledgehammer! Nuff said.
The Goods:
THE SHINING: 2 Disc Special Edition –October 23rd – Because it’s about time this classic got the DVD treatment it deserves! Will it be widescreen? I sure hope so!
HOOD OF HORROR –September 11th – Because it features Snoop! Snoop-a-Loop! Looks like a barrel of fun and then some.
STIR OF ECHOES 2 –November 20th – Because the original rocked, and while this will likely suck balls, I’m so damn curious about it I can hardly contain myself.
