CHILD’S PLAY: 20TH BIRTHDAY EDITION – September 9th
For years I’ve been griping about the fact that the original CHILD’S PLAY has been missing from previous CHUCKY DVD COLLECTIONS, as it never seemed right to have a CHUCKY COLLECTION without the original. I could have bought the bare-bones edition like so many before, but I figured I’d holdout for something better… and finally, the wait is over! Dig the sweet cover, dig the ‘Birthday Edition’ title, dig all the features, but HATE that it’s only presented in Mono 2.0. What’s the frickin’ point of releasing a new edition with the same crappy audio??? Otherwise, this is a stellar, solid buy for all.

POSTAL – August 26th
Finally, there’s truth in advertising! Specifically, the tagline for POSTAL, which reads Disgusting. Offensive. Stupid–notice that they even left out the final period after Stupid? Just shows how stupid this thing really is. Uwe Boll was kind enough to hook those up who actually buy this with a copy of the POSTAL 2 video game, much like he did with the release of BLOODRAYNE. Even though you know it’s gonna be stupid, you’ll probably want to check this beast out anyway… if, for nothing else, but to satisfy your curiosity.

ALFRED HITCHCOCK PREMIERE COLLECTION – October 14th
The true master of horror and suspense is back with this kick-ass, ultra-packed, mother of all collector sets! While his other ‘big’ classics, such as PSYCHO, THE BIRDS, VERTIGO, and NORTH BY NORTHWEST are nowhere to be found, his lesser known classics like LIFEBOAT and THE LODGER are getting the justice they deserve. Let’s face it, everything Hitchcock touched turned to gold, so even if you’ve never seen any of these films, you know you’re in for a treat!

PUMPKINHEAD: 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION – September 9th
Hard to believe that Chucky and Pumpkinhead are turning the same age this year, both spawning multiple sequels that never seem to die, and both a couple of bad motorscooters you wouldn’t want to cross paths with. The late, great Stan Winston directed the original tale, with genre fav Lance Henriksen in the starring role. PUMPKINHEAD sure wasn’t for everyone, but those who “got it” really enjoyed it. I’m still bummed about Winston’s death, but am looking forward to picking up his directorial effort so I can pay tribute to man with every viewing.

EVENT HORIZON –September 9th – Because it’s proof that director Paul W.S. Anderson could be making quality pictures… he just chooses not to!
HOME SICK August 26th – Because it stars genre favs Bill Moseley and Tiffany Shepis!
