ANACONDA 3: OFFSPRING – October 21st
The only way to make another ANACONDA sequel worth watching is if it had a big-name star to headline the picture. And with David “The Hoff” Hasslehoff on board ANACONDA 3: OFFSPRING, it appears as though we will have a reason to check this puppy out. Pointless, ridiculous, and idiotic may be the first words that come to mind when checking this beast out, but I think of “The Hoff” when I see this… and that makes me happy.
The Goods:
THE DEVIL’S CHAIR – October 7th
If you ever wondered what the Pig mask from the SAW series did when it wasn’t making another SAW movie (so about a week or two each year), here’s your answer: it’s making another movie called THE DEVIL’S CHAIR, about… the Devil’s chair!!! Any chair that Pig mask can sit on must be a cool chair… and, in turn, an equally cool movie. Check out Pig mask on DVD in October, and in SAW V a few weeks later. Long live the pig!
The Goods:
CLASS OF 1999 – September 16th
There will always be a certain spot in my heart for CLASS OF 1999, most likely because I was in the Class of 1999 myself, and always dreamed of a better world where teachers were essentially Terminators, and school was a war zone. Ok, maybe not a better world, but a way more interesting way to spend the day! While I’m stoked for the release, what’s up with the bare bones edition? And the cover? I know there bore some insane similarities between this and THE TERMINATOR, but isn’t his a little blatant? Come on! Either way, I’m stoked to be picking this bad boy up, just so I can show my kid 15 years from now what it was like for ME in high school and for him to stop complaining…
The Goods:
THE LEGEND OF BLOODY MARY – September 16th
As far as I know, this has nothing to do with the crappy URBAN LEGENDS: BLOOD MARY flick, but a whole new movie based on the horror of mirrors, a dark room, some candles… and one crazy pissed-off bitch. If I knew Bloody Mary would be this hot (if you can look past those bloody eyes…), I would have been calling her name a long time ago! No extras… lame!
The Goods:
DANCE OF THE DEAD –October 14th – Because if high school wasn’t like CLASS OF 1999, it might as well of had some zombies at the prom!
KILL SWITCH –October 7th – Because Steven Seagal kicking the crap out of a serial killer sounds like too much fun to miss.
DEAD COUNTRY October 7th – Because some a-hole who’s never seen this movie is being quoted on the cover to check it out… who are we not to listen???
That’s all for this week! Stay tuned every week for your latest DVD news, and as always, feel free to shoot me an email (ammongilbert@joblo.com
