THE DEVIL’S CURSE – November 18th
I was just thinking that the world needed another knock-off of THE CRAFT–let’s face it, witchcraft and devli worshiping is the perfect winning combination. Seriously though, I have no qualms with this flick thus far–yes, the cover is generic for this type of flick, but it could be worse… it could just feature a bunch of floatin heads in/around the ring of devil fire. Now that would be way, way worse.
The Goods:
DEAD OF WINTER – November 25th
Cheap, low budget, and probably a contendor for a Sci-Fi Original Movie, the cover art for DEAD WINTER strikes me as being ridiculously… awesome? That’s right, awesome! I said it! A screaming chick in the snow, a cell phone just out of reach, and a snow plow out on a killer rampage. The movie will likely suck (but in an entertaining way, of course), but that doesn’ mean I’m not all about this cover. That said–be sure to pick this baby up to lighten up your Thanksgiving festivities!
The Goods:
THE X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE – November 25th
I want to believe this movie didn’t bite the big one. I want to believe Fox and Co. stood behind this flick and wanted it to succeed. I want to believe that Gillian Anderson will get completely naked in the DVD version of the film. As you can see, I like to believe in all sorts of crazy shit, none of which are true (though I’m hoping for the last one). After all these years without an X-FILES movie, you’d think it would have been better than this. Definitely not worth the wait by anybody’s standards, but good enough for the double DVD treatment. Yay Fox.
The Goods:
THE BEYOND –October 28th – Because this chick has no eyes–do you hear me? No eyes!!!
CRIMSON FORCE –November 25th – Because it stars C. Thomas Howell and Jeff Fahey, and is a Sci-Fi Channel Essential. I have goosebumps just thinking about it…
SYNGENOR October 28th – Because the cover is cool, demented, and green–talk about piquing my interest!
That’s all for this week! Stay tuned every week for your latest DVD news, and as always, feel free to shoot me an email (ammongilbert@joblo.com
