VACANCY 2 – January 20th
VACANCY clobbered us with a good idea and decent execution… but wasn’t successful enough (financially) to warrant a theatrically released sequel. But a STD sequel–er, prequel? Then you have yourself a movie! Can’t say this generic cover is doing anything for me, but the prospect of the flick itself, detailing the first victims of the Snuff Motel, has me interested enough to give it a chance. And if it sucks, at least I’m just out a Netflix and not a whole $10!
The Goods:
THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT – February 24th
Since the remake is coming out soon, no doubt they’d released an extra special edition of this Wes Craven grindhouse classic. When I first saw this flick I declared it the most disturbing movie I had ever seen. It revolted me. I felt gross and disgusting after watching it. I lost my appetite… I think you get the idea, this movie f*cked me up. Because, the way it’s shot, it feels so real. But of course, it’s not. It’s just a movie. So the second time I watched it, I actually enjoyed myself and dug it for what it was. And now you can too.
The Goods:
BOOGEYMAN 3 – January 20th
What’s worse than a sequel to a shitty movie? How about two sequels to a shitty movie! Case in point, the crap that was BOOGEYMAN 2, and the crap that no doubt will be BOOGEYMAN 3. At least part 2 had Tobin Bell. This one has nothing going for other than a lame ass cover. The 3 mintue trailer I saw for this had 2.5 minutes wrapping up the first two movies and 30 seconds showing stuff from part 3. That’s when you know you got a winner on your hands.
The Goods:
YETI –January 13th – Because this cover sucks too hard not to want to check out.
SPLINTER –January 27th – Because the concept looks fun and it’s been awhile since we’ve seen a good monster movie.
HELLBOUND: HELLRAISER II – 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION January 27th – Because you can hardly believe it’s been 20 years since this has been released and you need yourself a new copy–and fast!
