DVD Buzz-Saw #23

THE GINGERDEAD MAN

Okay, what better way to start off the column with an evil Gingerbread Man? Bloody Disgusting reports: From Wizard Entertainment comes the news of The Gingerdead Man, which is being tagged with a November 24th release.

The premise focuses on three executed murderers whose remains are stored in a vat of pastry batter and they return as evil ‘cookie monsters’. The film is being helmed by B-Movie veteran Charles Band, who makes a long-awaited return to the genre. Also making an appearance is “everyone’s favorite drunk” Gary Busey, who’s career has now dwindled to voicing a piece of cookie dough. So sad, yet so funny…No extras have been announced nor has any pre-order information arisen…

LAND OF THE DEAD

Following a rather disappointing outcome at the Box Office, making pretty close to par of the Production cost, Universal Home Entertainment is hoping to recoup some of that mean green with the DVD release of George A. Romero’s epic zombie flick Land of the Dead (see Arrow’s review here). Considered to be a good outing by most horror fans, Land of the Dead

showcased zombies having taken over the world and those left alive are confined to a walled-in city that keeps out the corpse corps. Anarchy rules the streets, with the wealthy insulated and living in fortified skyscrapers. Drama revolves around a group of scavengers who must thwart an attempt to overthrow the city while the dead are evolving from brainless slow-moving creatures into more advanced creatures. The release date is October 25th and the only confirmed extra are some deleted scenes. There is a rumor that it also may come with an alternate ending. Keep checking back, well hook you up 🙂

George says get your ass out there and buy this damn DVD. Blood-Disgusting with the scoop.
