RIDDICK TRILOGY – May 30th
It’s not surprising that Universal’s releasing a trilogy of Vin Diesel’s ‘Greatest Hits’, but it is surprising that they were able to put it all on one disc! And extras, to boot! How’d they do that? Anyway, nothing’s better than an evening of Riddick, as they don’t make testosterone filled, Sci-Fi action flicks like this anymore. And check out those features! One of the better ‘3-Packs’ out there- plus, they’re all presented in their Unrated formats!
The Goods:
This should excite more than the three people out there who actually saw this movie in theaters. MILF Sharon Stone and her hot bod will be available to own in both rated (why?) and unrated (yes!) editions this summer. Skip through the b.s. and go directly to the sex scenes, or slap into your DVD player and play the famous drinking game ‘Drink When She’s Naked’ (ok, it’s not famous, I just made it up)- either way, I have a feeling this flick will be far more ‘entertaining’ in the comfort of your own home. MILF! MILF! MILF! MILF!
The Goods:
In case you have one of the six previous DVD editions of Michael Myers’ first stab at Jaime Lee Curtis, Anchor Bay’s lookin’ to reel you in with this new and improved ‘ultimate’ documentary DVD release. What makes this one better than the rest? Not only does it feature some ‘never before seen’ behind the scenes stuff, but it showcases footage from Halloween Returns To Haddonfield 25th Anniversary Convention. In case you missed it, you’ll at least have the chance to live up the best parts. This should definitely serve as a nice supplement to any HALLOWEEN collection.

I’LL ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER – August 1st
It’s finally coming: the one film to round out the ultimate slasher trilogy. Too bad none of the previous cast members have returned for the ‘final’ round with the Gordons Fisherman. But no fear, it looks like some ‘fresh meat’ are on board- could this one be the best of the bunch? As long as it’s better than I STILL KNOW, I’m game. Also released this day is a box set that includes all three films, so you can watch the trilogy over and over and over again. All I have to say is where’s Brandy, yo? Better yet, where’s Jennifer Love Hewitt’s cleavage?!

SATAN’S PLAYGROUND – August 22nd
Anchor Bay’s showin’ more horror indie love with the release of Dante Tomaselli’s 70’s/80’s style horror flick. Based on a sick and twisted true story, this should nurse that empty feeling of ‘nothing else to look forward to this August’ once SNAKES ON A PLANE hits theaters the Friday before. Ok, so it’s not a ‘true story’, but it is based on a ‘true’ legend. That’s kind of the same thing, right?

LADY VENGEANCE – September 26th
Maybe one of the most highly anticipated DVD releases for September, Park Chanwook’s tale of sweet, bloody revenge is finally making it to the small screen. If you’re into seeing the bad guy’s get what they deserve (and who doesn’t?), this should be at the top of your list.

TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE PART 2: ANNIVERSARY EDITION – TBA – Because watching Dennis Hopper go ape-shit crazy always spells ‘good times’.
ONE TAKE ONLY – August 22nd – Because it’s the first film from the director of THE EYE. And that shite was freaky.
LET’S SCARE JESSICA TO DEATH– August 29th – Because they don’t make classic titles like this anymore.
THE MAID – September 12th – Because it’s Singapore’s highest grossing movie ever, and your girlfriend’s still bugging you about renting from the Foreign Films section.
