TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2: THE GRUESOME EDITION – September 26th
Surprising released around the time of TCM: THE BEGINNING, the cover alone should have you blowing your load. Nice placement of star Dennis Hopper on the chainsaw blade’s reflection! This puppy is loaded with enough features to cave in and finally add this piece to your collection. Yes, it wasn’t that good, but damnit- it’s Leatherface, it’s Hopper, and it’s almost Halloween, so what the hell??? Plus: Bill Moseley rules!

THE EXORCIST: THE COMPLETE ANTHOLOGY– October 10th
Any self respecting horror feign just speemed their pants upon seeing this. This set is the ultimate EXORCIST set, including both versions of the original, and both versions of the crappy prequels – plus everything in between. No real extras have been announced as of yet, but with a boxed line up like this, you know there will be a plenty of juicy morsels tucked away. But what I want to know is: will it come with a can of split pea soup?

THE OMEN (remake) – October 17th
If you actually liked this movie, you suck. No, just joking- you don’t suck. You’re just one of the few who actually showed up and caught this in the theater- and now the rest of us will have to pay, as we catch it on DVD. At least we can get hammered and talk shit about it in the comfort of our own homes, right? Totally. Just remember: a cool cover doesn’t equal a cool movie.

AN AMERICAN HAUNTING – October 24th
Lionsgate comes through with a rated and non-rated release of this true story of The Bell Witch from Tennessee… a true story that only a handful of people have actually seen. Me, I’m all about Sissy Spacek and her outright creepiness, but just enough to catch her on DVD… plus, that PG-13 rating is straight weak sauce! Cool thing? Disc contains ‘internet promos’… not sure what that means, but by golly, I’m checkin’ it out!
The Goods:
THE MUFFIN MAN – OUT NOW – Because. With a title like that, that’s all I can really say: because.
THE GATHERING – October 3rd – Because it stars Christina Ricci in something you’ve never heard of. And she’s hot.
ABOMINABLE– October 3rd – Because there was something about HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS that never sat well with you. Like, there wasn’t enough bloodshed, and senior sasquatch wasn’t scary… until now.
