THE ADDAMS FAMILY – VOL. 1 – October 24th
While the movies had their moments, nothing lives up to the original B&W TV show of the kooky and spooky family of freaks and… uh, more freaks. You know what also rocks? This old Nintendo video game called Festers Quest (based, of course, on Uncle Fester), which entailed battling aliens attacking the planet and other crazy shite around the neighbourhood. It was probably one of the cooler games out when I was 12. And I almost beat it. Almost.
The Goods:
THE PUNISHER – EXTENDED CUT – November 21st
While the theatrical cut almost delivered the goods but fell a titch short, I’m hoping this Extended Cut, with 17 extra minutes re-edited back into the film, is the 17 minutes that turns this bad boy into a so-so actioner to the hard core, Dolph Lundgren style Punisher we all hoped for. Plus, this edition comes with ringtones, baby! Ringtones– I think it may be a DVD first…
The Goods:
SABBATH – November 28th
All I know is the synopsis, and really, I think it’s all I need: a Christian zombie movie. Yeah. Not sure what would make this more Christian than the next, but I can sure as hell speculate. Zombified priests? Church goers use their beliefs to battle zombies? There are no bad words, or sex, or violence… wait a minute! What kind of zombie movie is this, anyway??? What can I say, it’s been a slow week…
The Goods:
SATAN’S PLAYGROUND OUT NOW – Because it delivers that creepy 80s feel of evil in the woods, and it’s better than watching BARNEY’S PLAYGROUND.
SILENT HILL – OUT NOW – Because it rocked your world in the theaters, and you want it to rock you again in your living room. Just don’t buy it yet, that special unrated uncut edition is surely on it’s way…
MACHINED– OUT NOW – Because you love Styx ’s ‘Mr. Roboto’, and that’s basically this movie. Except with more death and destruction.
