THE GRUDGE 2 – February 6th
Possibly one of the more forgettable horror flicks to come out this year is now ready for you to own and watch over and over again… in both a rated (102 min.) and unrated (108 min.) special edition DVD. I know what you’re wondering… what exactly did we miss out on in those missing 6 minutes? Do they make the movie more bearable? I guess the only way to find out is to down a 12 pack of High Life, cover yourself in peanut butter, and watch both versions back to back! Er… at least, that’s what I plan on doing…
The Goods:
APARTMENT ZERO – February 20th
Rockin’ the classic story line of insane roommates, this 80s classic is one to reckon with- and it’s getting the DVD treatment it deserves. There must have been a hideously recut version of this flick floating around for awhile, as this DVD seems pretty stoked that it’s the full theatrical film… and here I thought unrated versions that were too hot for theaters were the ‘in’ thing these days…

THE HANNIBAL LECTER COLLECITON – January 30th
Just in time for HANNIBAL RISING, this slick 3-pack features
SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, HANNIBAL, and MANHUNTER, showcasing Mr. Lecter doing what he does best- you know, killing folks and shite. It boggles my mind they went with MANHUNTER over RED DRAGON for the 3 pack- not that RED DRAGON is superior in any way, but it does seem to ‘fit’ more with the others. Ah well, it’s nice to see Michael Mann’s version getting the love it deserves. And dig the cover art!

THE RAVEN – February 6th
While the poem/story of THE RAVEN is great, I’ve never seen a movie version that I’d call good- maybe this is the one? I’m diggin’ the raven on the cover, though the fact that it was added to what looks like the cover of the SAW DVD doesn’t give me high hopes. I mean, seriously- who were they kidding??? My grandma could spot that, and she’s blind in both eyes!

HELLBOY: SWORD OF STORMS – February 6th – Because you gotta have something to hold you over before HELLBOY 2: THE GOLDEN ARMY is finally released.
FRANKENSTEIN CONQUERS THE WORLD – February 27th – Because sometimes you just gotta kick back and watch a campy classic.
DARK CASTLE HORROR COLLECTION – February 20th – Because you’re into the Dark Castle remakes, even if you’re embarrassed to admit it… or maybe that’s just me.
