Prepare to yank the SILENT HILL excitement meter out of the wall, because it just went up another 5 notches!
Thanks to NextXodus for send us this info from a UK newspaper (The News of The World), which has already reviewed the Christophe Gans film and given it 4 out of 5 stars! Here’s a snippet from the review:
At last, after the snuff nonsense that was TOMB RAIDER, DOOM and RESIDENT EVIL, a movie adapted from a computer game that isn’t bad.
In fact it’s pretty damn good, mainly because director Christophe Gans – the bloke behind wierd french horror the BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF isn’t afraid to mess with the franchise. So instead of an Arnold Schwarzenegger style hero trying to save a missing child from a bunch of ghosts, you get a mother trying to track down her missing and terminally ill daughter.
The film doesn’t stint on action, with mum Radha Mitchell, from Pitch Black, and cop Laurie Holden kicking some serious butt. Sean Bean also stars as the missing girls dad. There’s plenty of gore and big scares, especially when the mum has to creep through a nightmarish hospital staffed by bandage clad killer nurses.
It’s enough to make you wish you’d gone private!
It looks to be a winner for Sony, though I’d still be cautious, since the source spelt Christophe Gans’ name incorrectly (it’s not Christopher!), as well as BROTHERHOOD (calling it ‘brotherhood of the wolves’). Hopefully I’m proven wrong on that end this Friday. Check your radio for batteries.
