Edgar Wright goes back to the New Bev with Wright Stuff III

Edgar Wright is going back to the New Beverly in LA to program a week of films, like he’s done twice before. The difference this time is that he hasn’t seen any of them.

A little while ago Edgar Wright asked people for recommendations of classics he’s never seen, because what better way to experience a film than with a bunch of film fans in 35mm? He’s turned this into an absolutely incredible series at the New Bev, full of double features and many genuine classics. One that’s showing everything from THE BANK DICK and WHITE HEAT to THRONE OF BLOOD and BUCKAROO BANZAI and offers up suggestions from cinematic geniuses like Quentin Tarantino, Joe Dante, John Landis, Guillermo Del Toro, Judd Apatow, Joss Whedon, Bill Hader and Rian Johnson.

It’s starting to look grim for 35mm prints, so this is a great way to celebrate real film and with real fans. Look for some special guests including Landis, Greg Mottola, Patton Oswalt, Joe Carnahan, Peter Bogdonavich, Kevin Smith and many more.

The Wright Stuff III kicks off Friday, December 9th. Check Edgar Wrght’s blog to pick up tickets.
