Eli Roth’s History of Horror season 3 ordered by AMC

There was a two year wait between the first and second seasons of the AMC docuseries Eli Roth's History of Horror, but there's only going to be a one year wait between seasons 2 and season 3. AMC has confirmed that they're ordering a third season of the show, and season 3 is going to start airing later in 2021.

The new season will consist of episodes titled

– Sinister Psychics
– Infections
– Mad Scientists
– Apocalyptic Horror
– Sequels That Don’t Suck
– Holiday Horror

Each hourlong episode promises to delve into the scream themes, investigating how the genre has evolved through the decades and impacted society’s biggest fears.

Subjects covered in the first two seasons include Zombies, Slashers, The Demons Inside, Killer Creatures, Vampires, Ghost Stories, Houses of Hell, Monsters, Body Horror, Witches, Chilling Children, and Nine Nightmares (nine films that "defy categorization").

Season 2 reached nearly six million viewers Nielsen's Live+3 ratings when it was airing in October – November 2020, and the Halloween night episode ("Witches") was the #3 telecast "on cable in standard primetime numbers among the key demographic of adults ages 18-49 in Live+3 ratings".

A collaboration between The Content Group and Marwar Junction Productions, Eli Roth's History of Horror is executive produced by Kurt Sayenga, Steven Michaels, Jodi Flynn, Joseph Freed, Allison Berkley, and host Eli Roth.
