Elio teaser trailer: A case of mistaken identity leads to Disney and Pixar’s next interstellar adventure

Have you ever wondered if we’re alone in the universe? Evidence suggests life on other planets could exist. Still, we’ve yet to contact beings capable of communicating on a level similar to our native speech patterns. Chances are there’s intelligent life in the infinite that exists beyond our reach. Elio is about to encounter a federation of outer space creatures as a representative of Earth. It’s a big responsibility for such a young person, and Elio’s lie could land Earth in a compromising position in Disney and Pixar‘s Elio teaser trailer.

In today’s Elio teaser trailer, a case of mistaken identity finds a young boy, Elio, being beamed aboard an alien craft and placed before a gathering of creatures from beyond the stars. The aliens think Elio is the ambassador of Earth, but Elio knows better, or does he? Once his survival instinct kicks in, Elio leans into the lie, becoming Earth’s sole representative and only hope for a peaceful alliance with beings beyond our understanding.

Here’s the official synopsis for Eilio:

For centuries, people have called out to the universe looking for answers—in Disney and Pixar’s all-new movie “Elio,” the universe calls back! The original feature film introduces Elio, an underdog with an active imagination who finds himself inadvertently beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide. Mistakenly identified as Earth’s ambassador to the rest of the universe and completely unprepared for that kind of pressure, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, survive a series of formidable trials and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be.

America Ferrera (Ugly BettyBarbie), Yonas Kibreab (Pretty Freekin ScaryBlood Moon), Jameela Jamil (The Good PlaceShe-Hulk: Attorney at Law), and Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves RaymondBupkis) join the cast. Elio is Pixar’s 28th animated feature, opening in theaters on March 1, 2024. Adrian Molina (screenwriter and co-director of Coco) directs, with production by Mary Alice Drumm (associate producer of Coco).

In addition to today’s Elio teaser trailer, Disney and Pixar unveiled gorgeous images and a poster from the upcoming film.
