Elisha Cuthbert joins Goon: Last of the Enforcers; Liev Schreiber to return

THE GIRL NEXT DOOR has been cast in GOON: LAST OF THE ENFORCERS. THR is reporting that Elisha Cuthbert will play the ostentatious sister of Alison Pill’s Eva in the sequel. Pill will be back, and according to the site, Liev Schreiber will also reprise his role from the first film as Ross "The Boss" Rhea. Seann William Scott's hockey enforcer Doug “The Thug" Glatt will return "in a story that sees his team, the Halifax Highlanders, reunite with a host of new players during a pro lockout."

GOON star and co-writer Jay Baruchel will also be behind the camera this time around, and is making his feature film directorial debut with the sequel. Production is set to begin later this month in Toronto.

Comedy sequels don't have a stellar track record, but I have very high hopes for GOON: LAST OF THE ENFORCERS. How do you think Liev Schreiber's Rhea will be used in the sequel, since it seemed like he was going to retire from playing hockey shortly after the events from the first movie? Maybe as the coach of a rival team?

GOON: LAST OF THE ENFORCERS will likely hit theaters sometime in 2016.
