Emma Stone talks Gwen Stacy & appearing in future Spider-Man movies

Haven't seen THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 yet? Then don't even bother reading this article. In fact, don't even think about reading it. You can take a quick peek at Emma Stone looking cute and adorable in the picture below, but there will be major spoilers after the image, so some of you may want to avoid Stone's comments on Gwen Stacy and THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2.

If you have seen THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, then you know Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man was unable to save Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy, just like the comics. Ok, so not exactly like the comics, but you know what I mean. Stone recently spoke with Screen Rant, and talked a little about filming the scene before revealing there's a chance she could return for another movie.

Emma Stone: It was pretty crazy, I mean, it takes a while to film. It takes like a week, so you’re sort of, you know, all the different parts of it. But we shot it out of sequence, so I actually croaked before I croaked, if that makes any sense. Like a frog. I’m not talking about death, I’m talking about frog noises. Just kidding. So I had to do the death scene and my last day actually on the movie was Dane holding me as the Goblin about to drop me. So that was probably the most emotional part. Just because it was—I was about to fall and I also knew it was my last day and my last time working with these people…

Screen Rant: Is it [you're last time working with these people]?

ES: I don’t know… is it?

SR: Is it?

ES: There could be a—I don’t know, there’s a whole plotline that could happen that may bring her back.

Gwen Stacy has returned a few times in the comics, usually as clones created by Professor Miles Warren. The name "Dr. Thomas Warren" appears on a plaque in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, but it's not clear if the two are connected.

Stacy has also returned in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, but instead of a clone, she's the human disguise for the Ultimate version of Carnage. Although it appears Cletus Kasady (the host for the symbiote in the comics) does exist in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN universe, could we see Gwen Stacy return as Carnage in a future movie? Don't forget VENOM and SINISTER SIX spin-offs are being developed as well, so symbiotes might play a big part in the next Spidey flick.

Do you like the idea of Gwen Stacy returning for another film, and if so, how would you like to see it handled? Sound off below!
