2014 marked the first time in 9 years that we went a full year without a new film from Pixar. With a lot of films on their slate and a slew of sequels that didn’t quite live up to the mark the studio set for themselves, expectations are high for what comes next from the animation powerhouse. We have already seen a teaser for INSIDE OUT but now we have a full trailer for the film that gives a good idea of what to expect from the emotional film.

Playing out more like a scene from the movie rather than a traditional trailer, we get to see main character Riley and her parents having a conversation at the dinner table. When things don’t go as planned, we get an extra insightful look into what each member of the family is thinking. Seeing Mom, Dad, and Riley’s inner emotions and the distinct way they act is pretty funny in it’s own right and could make for a very unique movie experience.

With a voice cast that includes Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, and Mindy Kaling, INSIDE OUT looks like a return to form for Pixar in a day and age where other studios, including Disney themselves, have begun to catch up in the quality of their animated features. Here’s hoping this is just a hint of what is to come.

INSIDE OUT opens on June 19, 2015.
