Today Fangoria had a chance to talk with Freddy himself, Robert Englund, about the rumors, and what he thinks (or wishes) would happen. Here’s a snippet: “The rumor I hear is that there will be a NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET prequel before the next FREDDY VS. JASON.”
You heard right, it’s gonna happen! Yes, he said rumor, but we’re talkin’ Englund here, and when he hears rumors, he hears them from a bit more reliable sources, than say you or I. And if what he hears is true, then it’s gonna be awesome!
He also had some other interesting things to say… for example, Englund heard John McNaughton (HENRY: POTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER) might direct the prequel! Yup, it keeps getting better! Since the prequel would be even scarier than a straight up slasher flick, as it deals with child molestation, who better to scare the crap outta us than McNaughton? He’s the perfect choice for the job! I hope someone’s listening to this- he’d be great!
