Just in case you haven’t yet gotten your fill of haunted prison movies, the good old folks Down-Under are dishing out another incarceration. This one’s called DEVIL’S GATEWAY and it was shot and set at abandoned 19th-century penitentiary, Maitland Prison, which is pretty cool in my book. It really gives the flick an old-school authenticity to it. See for yourself by clicking on the trailer below. But first, cuff your eyes around the plot:
100 miles or so north of Sydney, the cast and crew of a TV show called PARANORMAL INVESTIGATORS head to Maitland Prison to shoot an episode about a multiple murder/suicide involving a guard, when the titular portal crashes open.
I’m sure from there all hell literally breaks loose. Well, the trailer definitely appears to have room for some potentially jumpy scares. And I do like the pic of that creature up top. Perhaps this GATEWAY will be worth opening.
The flick was directed by Alexander Herget who co-scripted with Anne Mason. It stars a list of virtual unknowns named Jack Campbell, Michael Piccirilli, Holly Brisley, Rebecca Clay, Vanessa Gray, and Jessica Meadows. No word yet on an official release date, but you can check out the official website here.
