Director David R. Ellis is a man who knows what he’s doing. At least that’s my opinion. Ellis has only a handful of credits to his name, but two of those flicks were awesome in my eyes while his one of his latest was a fun ride. The two awesome flicks I’m speaking of are FINAL DESTINATION 2 and CELLULAR. The fun ride I speak of is SNAKES ON A PLANE. Ellis’ latest project is the fourth installment of the FINAL DESTINATION series, which most are having high hopes for already.
Sure, everyone’s going to have different opinions on the flick’s above. FINAL DESTINATION 2 was a spot on sequel and SNAKES ON A PLANE… while the build up was too big for the movie, was still entertaining. Well if your like me, and your a fan of Mr. Ellis, then you’ll be glad to hear that his little horror project ASYLUM is finally hitting DVD!
The last news item I could find on ASYLUM was posted WAY back on September 06. So needless to say this one has been in the works for a while. Well we got word from MGM today that ASYLUM is looking at a July 15 release date!
Now this one is going straight to DVD, but that shouldn’t take anything away from it. (Pre-order it here) The synopsis for ASYLUM reads: A group of beautiful coeds discover that their dorm was once a mental hospital where unspeakable experiments were performed by a deranged physician trying to “cure” troubled teens. But now the mad doctor’s ghost is back to continue his torturous work…and he’s running out of patients!
It stars the gorgeous Sarah Roemer (below) of DISTURBIA fame, Travis Van Winkle, Jake Muxworthy, Cody Kasch, and Carolina Garcia. Ethan Lawrence penned the script. All signs point to ASYLUM being a pretty twisted ride, so here’s hoping.
