Comedian Ricky Gervais is jumping back behind the camera for his third directorial feature, SPECIAL CORRESPONDENTS. The story will focus a struggling New York based radio journalist whose arrogance and decadent lifestyle have hindered his career. With his job on the line he fakes front line war reports from the comfort of his hideout above a Spanish restaurant in the heart of Manhattan. Poised to play the man without shame is the Hulk himself, Eric Bana.

Eric Bana is probably most notable for kicking ass and taking names, although he's dabbled in comedy in the past. His turn in Jud Apatow's FUNNY PEOPLE was a breath of fresh air, so I'm sure Ricky Gervais will make good use of him. I can't claim to be the biggest fan of THE INVENTION OF LYING, but I've enjoyed the bulk of Gervais' shows and his stand-up routines. Here's hoping he brings something really effin' funny our way come next year.

SPECIAL CORRESPONDENTS is scheduled to go into principal photography in the Spring of 2015.
