Eternals streaming release now available on Disney+ in IMAX Enhanced format

Eternals, Eternals streaming release, Disney+

Today marks the official Eternals streaming release on Disney+. The superhero film that introduced Marvel fans to a whole new team of heroes is available to stream right now in IMAX Enhanced format, bringing all the action and beauty of director Chloe Zhao‘s film to your home setup.

Marvel’s Eternals follows a group of heroes from beyond the stars who had protected the Earth since the dawn of man. When monstrous creatures called the Deviants, long thought lost to history, mysteriously return, the Eternals are forced to reunite to defend humanity once again.

The outstanding ensemble cast includes Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, with Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, with Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena.

Superbly shot on-location by Zhao, Eternals presents MCU fans with a different kind of Marvel movie. While the film does include instances of exciting comic book action, it’s a quieter, more character-driven affair that spans 3,000 years of change, evolution, and strife. Eternals is one of my favorite MCU films to date. I adore the movie’s emphasis on how heroes change, and that when left to their own devices, some will choose their new life over the old. It’s a film about unrequited love, dedication to one’s mission, and spitting in the face of a being that might not have the planet’s best interest at heart. That’s just my take on it, and I understand that some people do not feel the same. That’s okay. Different strokes for different folks and all that jazz.

Are you stoked for the Eternals streaming release on Disney+? I didn’t have the chance to see it in an IMAX Enhanced theater, so I am more than ready to tune in for another round to see what I can see. Few movies fuel my imagination like those belonging to the MCU, and as I said before, Eternals certainly changes the formula up a bit, even if it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
