Ethan Hawke returns to The Purge for TV show’s season 2 finale

Although Ethan Hawke starred in the first film in the PURGE franchise, I never expected to see his character show up again – and I certainly wouldn't have expected his return to the franchise to come in the television series. Especially since he already completely missed out on the show's first season. But Hawke returning to the world of The Purge in the TV show is exactly what's happening.

It has been announced that Hawke will be reprising his role of James Sandin from the first PURGE film in the cold open of the Purge TV show's season 2 finale, an episode titled 7:01 A.M. Hawke's appearance comes in a flashback scene that

takes the story back to one week before the first national Purge Night, the annual amnesty day that allows citizens to kill and victimize others for 12 hours without fear of prosecution.

The episode will air on USA Network on Tuesday, December 17th, at 9/8C .

The season finale

picks up as Purge Night rages on and Esme, Ryan, Marcus and Ben fight for their lives and their loved ones

Derek Luke, Max Martini, Paola Nuñez, and Joel Allen star in this season of the show.

Created by James DeMonaco, who has written every film in the PURGE series and directed the first three, The Purge is executive produced by DeMonaco, Jason Blum, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, Sébastien K. Lemercier, Thomas Kelly, and Anthony Hemingway.
