Yep, it’s finally coming. EVENT HORIZON is finally coming to DVD here in Region 1 land with the goodness it deserves.
Way back when, we dropped news that R2 owners were going to get a Special Edition DVD of Paul Anderson’s cult classic starring Morpheus and that dude from JURASSIC PARK (aka Laurence Fishburne and Sam Neill). Those of us on the other side of the pond were left out in the proverbial cold by Paramount (which wasn’t the first time, nor will it be the last). Then, in November, we received word that Paramount would finally bring over the DVD to North American shores April 18th.
Today, DVDActive revealed the cover art for the new DVD, which is similar to the original, save for a few art tweaks and the new ‘Special Collector’s Edition’ banner on the top. As for extras, there’s a hell of a lot for the $19.99 price tag. Head over to Fangoria to check ’em out. The next thing on fans’ minds is whether the film is uncut. Unfortunately, there’s no word on if the film will be presented uncut (the R2 DVD wasn’t), so here’s hoping.
