Evil Dead 4 rumored to actually be starting production

We haven’t had an update on the promised new EVIL DEAD film in about six months now, and most would assume that such a thing would mean it isn’t happening. But as it turns out, there is actual movement now on the fourth film, as according to Dread Central, production might actually be spooling up.

This comes from a report that longtime Sam Raimi editor Bob Murawaski (who did ARMY OF DARKNESS, SPIDER-MAN and DRAG ME TO HELL) has headed out to Detroit, MI to begin work on the “small indie” EVIL DEAD sequel, or prequel, or reboot. We’re not exactly sure yet.

If that’s not enough for you, taking to his recently created Twitter page this weekend, Bruce Campbell himself commented on the alleged film:

Bruce was questioned by a fan who stated, “I won’t believe in a new Evil Dead film until I see it. Or at least not until @GroovyBruce tells me to believe in it,” to which Campbell responded, “Believe in the remake, dawg! The project is real. In the works. Cool as hell. Scary as hell.”

That would also seem to mean that he’s definitely involved, which is obviously a must for any EVIL DEAD revisiting.

Will you be pumped for a fourth film?
