The Evil Dead franchise, much like the deadites, continues to rise and the latest entry is a majorly visceral experience. If you haven’t had the chance to catch it, Warner Bros. is releasing the horror film on digital very soon. The studio has announced that Evil Dead Burn will be available on digital outlets for buy or rent starting next week on August 4 in the U.S. and Canada. It will be available on the usual digital outlets, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango and more. No news yet on its HBO Max release date.
The film proved to be a box office disappointment in North America, only grossing about $29 million (so far), although it’s performed well overseas, bringing the worldwide total to a decent $63 million. Whatever the case, another movie in the saga is already wrapped – with Evil Dead Wrath on the way in 2028. We dug the movie, which – to be sure – is among the goriest films in the franchise to date.
Then, for those who are interested in getting the film on physical media, the movie will hit retailers on September 22 with 4K, Blu-ray and DVD releases. The official description reads,
“EVIL DEAD BURN unleashes the franchise’s most savage and terrifying ride to date with an all-new chapter of carnage and demonic mayhem. After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home. As one by one they are transformed into Deadites—turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell—she comes to discover that the vows she took in life live on… even in death.
