TRUSTED scooper from the set of ALEXANDRE AJA’s upcoming
PIRANHA 3D just
dropped us a line to give us the 411 as to the tone of the film and the
screen time of its name talent.
I’m working on Piranha out here in LHC, Arizona. I
wouldn’t really expect it to be much of a straight up horror film because it
more along the lines of Peter Jackson’s Dead Alive, It’s an amazing blend of
horror, comedy and dry one dimensional characters (but for a reason). And
the star studded cast is more like a series of cameos. Jerry O’Connell has
the greatest introduction as a Joe Francis/Girls Gone Wild type pioneer –
that’s as much as I can give away…
There ya have it! Will be interesting to see Aja play the warped comedy
card for once. Should be a blast! PIRANHA 3D is loosely based on Joe Dante’s 1978
classic of the same name, it stars Elisabeth Shue, Ving Rhames, Richard
Dreyfuss, Dina Meyer, Jerry O’Connell, Kelly Brook and Riley Steele and you
can look for it to chew the screens on March 19, 2010.
