Excl: Henry Selick

Some cool, exclusive news for you, my peeps! My man, Eric, just scored an interview with Mr. Henry Selick, the brilliant director of NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS and next month’s CORALINE (which looks as awesome as NIGHTMARE). And now we have the word on what Mr. Selick will be up to next (and trust me, it sounds f*cking sweet)! Check out what the man told our man, Eric:

Selick’s producing a film for director Chris Butler called “ParaNorman” which he says is a funny zombie story. They’re writing it and designing characters now.

He said his next directorial effort MIGHT be “Count Karlstein” based on the book by Philip Pullman (Golden Compass). He says he has a screen-story worked out, but hasn’t written a draft yet, and he didn’t mention if it would be stop-motion or 3D or what…

The book is about a Count who offers the souls of his niece and nephew to a demon in exchange for wealth and power.

That sounds like two amazingly kick-ass projects! I totally want to check out both! Looks like Mr. Selick could be on quite a role after CORALINE opens. Look for more info on that flick as well in the coming weeks at AITH!
