Exclusive 1:1 Interview: Felicity Jones talks True Story and Star Wars!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

In TRUE STORY, Felicity Jones plays the supportive but tentative partner of Jonah Hill‘s journalist character Michael Finkle, whose latest case is driving him to the brink. He’s become obsessed with Christian Longo (James Franco) a charming, manipulative man accused of murdering his wife and children. To the public at large, Longo clearly seems guilty, but for Finkle, there’s perhaps more than meets the eye. For Jones’ “Jill”, it becomes quite worrisome to have such a man in her boyfriend’s life – understandably.

Jones is having quite a good run lately. She was nominated for an Oscar for her turn in THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING (playing another supportive partner) and recently got cast in STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE. And this hot streak couldn’t have happened to a more pleasant and charming person. I spoke to Felicity about her role in TRUE STORY and what it took to prepare for it, as well as tried my best to insert some STAR WARS chatter in the mix. (Believe me, I knew she was being asked STAR WARS questions all day – which she promptly shot down – so to get her to say anything about it was a semi-accomplishment.)
