We’ve been writing up EXORSISMUS (or THE POSSESSION OF EMMA EVANS, if you prefer) for just about a year now. The Filmax production, about a young girl potentially possessed by a demon, has yet to build any real momentum thus far, but maybe that changes today, as the boys at TwitchFilm.net got the first trailer, which you can peek at below.
Frankly, it doesn’t set my world on fire, but then again, all flicks in this vein (THE LAST EXORCISM included) are beginning to blend together for me. Since there’s nothing really distinct about any of them – at least in preview form – I’ve got to just wait and see the actual films before feeling one way or another about them. EXORCISMUS (THE POSSESSION OF EMMA EVANS) follows Fifteen-year-old Emma Hawkins, who, like any other teenage girl, thinks that her parents don’t understand her. She longs for independence and a life free of family ties and responsibilities and she is prepared to do anything to achieve it. But one day she will be forced to face up to the consequences of her actions.
Life seems to be carrying on as normal, until one day Emma starts experiencing frightening fits. Her parents are convinced that her problems are either medical or psychological, but when doctors´ tests are unable to draw any conclusions, the family is forced to look elsewhere for answers.
The flick stars Sophie Vavasseur, Doug Bradley, Tommy Bastow, Stephen Billington, Brendan Price, Richard Felix, Jo-Anne Stockham and Claudia Costas. No release date has been revealed as of yet…
