Exploitation doc American Grindhouse coming to DVD next year

Having made its rounds in the festival circuit throughout 2010, AMERICAN GRINDHOUSE – a documentary about exploitation films – will hit DVD next year. Although an exact date hasn’t been set, Lorber Films plan to release it in early- to mid-2011.

The picture is directed by Elijah Drenner, who co-wrote with Calum Waddell. It features interviews with Joe Dante, Herschell Gordon Lewis, William Lustig, Jack Hill, John Landis, Larry Cohen, David Hess, and more, with Robert Forster serving as narrator. Here is the synopsis:
