Explore the world of Section 9 in this Ghost in the Shell featurette

When it comes to Hollywood remakes of well known Japanese properties, the end results can be a little mixed; for every THE RING, there's a GODZILLA (1998) waiting in the wings. It remains to be seen which side the upcoming adaptation of Masamune Shirow's "Ghost in the Shell" will fall on, but I've been pleasantly surprised, at least in the visual sense, of what we've seen from the film so far. Directed by Rupert Sanders, GHOST IN THE SHELL stars Scarlett Johansson as the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9 which is devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists.

A new featurette for GHOST IN THE SHELL has been released which explores the world of Section 9, with particular focus on Chief Daisuke Aramaki (Takeshi Kitano) and Batou (Pilou Asbæk).

There's just over two weeks to go until the release of GHOST IN THE SHELL, but if you'd care for a little more of the Major (Scarlett Johansson) and Section 9, make sure to read our own JimmyO's recent review of the 12-minute IMAX preview of GHOST IN THE SHELL.

The official synopsis for GHOST IN THE SHELL:
